Over 10,000 followers thanks to dramatic reductions in in-house man-hours and measures to increase followers! Why we focus on social media in this day and age.
Hello, this is the customer case interview team at Orinas Inc.
This time, we interviewed Mr. Takeuchi and Mr. Oka from the Advertising and Sales Promotion Department of Grip International Co., Ltd.
We are supporting follow-up campaigns for four of the official Instagram accounts of Grip International's brands. Although Grip International was interested in strategic management and effective measures, they were unable to implement them due to a lack of in-house specialists.
We spoke frankly about their desire to "strengthen social media in order to make their eight brands known to a wider target demographic," the challenges they have faced up until now, and the effects they have felt since the initiative actually began.

The important thing now is to use social media strategically
Orinas: Thank you for your time today. First, could you please tell us about your company's business?
Oka: Founded in 2001, we develop and sell a wide variety of sports apparel brands, focusing on golf wear, based on the concept of "elegance in golf wear." We currently sell eight brands nationwide, including our own brands and imported brands.
Orinas: Could you please tell us what your roles are in the departments you belong to, Mr. Oka and Mr. Takeuchi?
Oka: The role of our department is to promote and advertise. Our work is wide-ranging, including providing apparel and support for our many contracted pros, posting on social media for each brand with the aim of winning e-commerce orders, and creating and photographing brand images.
Orinas: You have a team of four people working on such a wide range of projects. What challenges have you faced in the digital marketing field?
Oka: There was no one in the company with specialized knowledge about social media advertising. Even though I wanted to advertise, I didn't know even the basics, like how to advertise effectively, so I wanted to ask a specialist. Golf wear is purchased by a wide range of people, and I think social media is an effective way to get people to know about it now. It's precisely because of the current era that we need to focus on social media.
Orinas: Previously, did your marketing focus mainly on magazine placements?
Oka: Previously, we would ask other companies to advertise in magazines, online media, and to professional golfers. It was only in the last two years that we started to strengthen our social media advertising. We have eight brands, so we have a lot of product information to introduce, but we can't include everything in magazines, so we wanted to enrich our own content.
It all started with participating in a webinar. The deciding factor was their extensive track record and friendly support system.
Orinas: There are many other digital marketing companies out there, but could you tell us why you chose our company?
Oka: I was introduced to your seminar by Takeuchi some time ago, and I decided to attend. The content was easy to understand, and the cost was reasonable compared to other companies. If it was going to be so effective, I thought I'd give it a try.
Takeuchi: We can manage SNS ourselves, and I thought there wouldn't be any difference no matter who we asked, but there were quite a few differences. We have asked a large company before, but compared to them, Orinas allows us to discuss various details and also creates effective visuals (creative production of images to post, etc.). I get the impression that they are more considerate. I heard that your company has many employees in their 20s and 30s, so I felt that it might be more effective to have someone who uses SNS in charge in real life.
Orinas: Thank you very much, I'm very happy. Could you tell us about the effectiveness of the measures you took to address the issues and your thoughts on them?
Oka: It was quite effective. They cleared the high targets that made me wonder if they could achieve them. They listened to our requests, created solid creative content, and it was great that we were able to start the campaign smoothly. Their support with shipping and other matters was also helpful. Previously, I was the one who picked out the winners and contacted and shipped the prizes, but it was difficult in terms of man-hours.
Orinas: That's good. I'll try harder to achieve better results in the future, so please let me know if there are any areas I should improve.
Oka: It would be great if we could receive operational advice and trend information on a regular basis. Social media trends change rapidly, so if we could receive this information, we could plan the timing of entrusting advertising to you internally. We currently have Instagram accounts for eight brands, and we would like to increase the number of followers on each to 10,000. Once we achieve this goal, we would like to focus on TikTok and YouTube as well.
Takeuchi: I would like to set a social media direction for each brand. Our goal is to have 10,000 followers, but each brand has a different character and customer base. I would be grateful if you could give me advice on measures tailored to each brand, such as what each brand should do, or conversely, what methods are better than advertising for this brand. First, I would like to increase the number of followers for Heal Creek and VIVA HEART, so that they can become role models for other brands.
Orinas: I see, thank you! By the way, what kind of measures do you want to take in the future?
Oka: I would be happy if we could continue with gift campaigns and, in the future, do fan content-like initiatives such as recruiting ambassadors. There are also many other things I would like to do in the future, such as linking social media and in-store campaigns, so I hope you will continue to support us.
Orinas: Understood. We will continue to provide guidance on measures to match your company's growth, so we look forward to your continued support.
Finally
We are very pleased to receive such kind words about Orinas' support system and the results of the campaign. We would like to continue to support you with fan marketing initiatives and other social media initiatives such as TikTok and YouTube.
